2012, Humanity and the U.S

Yesterday I watched a very interesting program on the History Channel.  The title of the program was “ Nostradamus: 2012“ and part of their “Armageddon Week” lineup, which also included other programs of interesting topics such as “The Seven Signs of the Apocalypse” and “The Bible Code.”  Anyway, in short, this particular program focused on the year 2012 and the implications of this year in ancient cultures, such as the Maya and Egypt.  It tied this in with the prophecies of Nostradamus and the work of the Freemasons and the correlation between such.  The case was made through differing interpretations and astronomy that in the year 2012, the sun will line up directly with the center of the Milky Way and how this may have catastrophic implications for the planet Earth.  I know this sounds way out there but trust me, to a man that believes in rationale such as me, the program made an interesting case that will have you think to say the least.  I advise anyone to catch a rerun if possible.  I don’t consider this a place to discuss and mull over subjects such as divine prophecy, mysticism and the end of the world; there are already many sites solely dedicated to the subject matter.  What did stand out to me, among other things, was really arriving to an understanding of just how much our world has plunged into absolute chaos – from the environment, to the economy, to food shortages and pestilence to war and how each is so closely interconnected to one another.  The program went on to explain how in ancient cultures, like the Maya, there did not seem to be a future beyond 2012 on their calendar and how this could spell demise for humanity.  Those in the program pointed to various signs occurring as we speak that may be leading up to something big in the year 2012.  Whatever your beliefs on this, even the most closed mind cannot help but to admit that there is something happening in our world now – I would call them a culmination of calamities happening not only around the world but in our own back yard as well.  From a constant string of devastating storms, massive degradation of our environment, animal species on the brink of extinction and economies plunging to rock bottom are some of the examples the program gave.  These events are not only isolated events, but appear to occur one after another, like a row of dominoes falling.  As one researcher notes there is a constant string of bad to disastrous news broadcasted throughout media more so than any other time in recent history.  Another researcher stated that we are experiencing more history in our time than all the previous centuries combined!  Imagine that.  Hundreds and hundreds of years of historical events and what is happening now outdoes all of them!  And another man stated that is appears as if everything, all the disasters, events seem to be bottlenecking and catastrophe is close on the horizon than we think.  After years and years of abuse, it is like the world is turning against humanity now in our time.  The way I view it is that humanity is at the crossroads.  The program did make this point as well.  It discussed how the Hopi Indians had prophecies forecasting disaster for the human race but in the end humanity had the choice as always – the choice to march towards destruction and oblivion or towards prosperity and a new age of man.  Discussed also was the final drawing in the lost books of Nostradamus and how this drawing with the man holding empty book of life is interpreted as man writing the final chapter; despite his prophecies of doom Nostradamus put the ultimate responsibility of choice in the hands of man to see his prophecies come to pass or not.  The people in the program talked about how the year 2012 may not signify the end of humanity but rather the beginning of a new stage for humanity, if and only if we learn the lessons of this age.  Ultimately, the course of the world is determined by us deciding to change for the better.  It is in our hands, it is our choice, to make 2012 the final year or the first year of something great.  Even the ancients new this.  We must stop destroying the earth and each other; we must destroy greed and become new.  I am now convinced more than ever that the massive problems happening in the U.S are just a prelude for its eventual destruction.  This program even highlighted how Egypt, the superpower of its day, was so afraid of losing prominence on the world scene they invested more and more revenue into its military thus draining their economy.  Do you understand where I am going with this?  I believe the downfall of the U.S with all of its blood will benefit the rest of humanity as a whole.  The U.S is the world’s top polluter and pillager of nature, the U.S instead of reducing is expanding its military to support its colonization in foreign countries by blood, third world countries starve because of the U.S raising the price of food worldwide in its obsession for biofuels, the hell with the consequences, even the mess the U.S has made of its economy is effecting the economies of other countries.  Would not the world be better off without us, as Martin Luther King Jr. called the U.S, “the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today.”  Eventually it will happen; it always does.  The U.S is the major obstacle of peace and brotherhood in the world.  But history tells us – we will fall.
